laura, on inflation. the fed raises rates when it's worried about inflation. it doesn't cut them. so it clearly thinks inflation is almost under control. all right. thank you very much scottose police arrested three men suspected of a violent machete attack back in june. police were led to the suspects because of some very graphic video of that beating and stabbing. one suspect was already known to police. nbc bay area's kris sanchez joins us live from san jose police headquarters, where investigators are preparing to give some more details. i understand in just moments, chris, i got great detail. so we just heard from the san jose police department. they say that this is really a miracle that this man survived this really violent assault. and they knew one of those suspects, one of the suspects served 13 years in prison for a homicide back in 2005. and as he and two other suspects were attacking this person on the ground, they their faces were visible in the surveillance video. we've blurred it out, but it is still graphic, so you can watch or turn away. now the victim is you can see in the video was punched. he was kicked. he was stabbed in the parking lot and slashed.
