the jennifer lawrence incident is not the beginning of this. we started two years ago when average people were being affected by this. this has been something that is happening private citizens for years. this is not some high profile case we are responding to out of a sense of now that has happened to someone famous we care. we care about this because the experience of victims has been that none of these laws work. if the image is out there, if it was not necessarily by someone trying to harass, and many of them do not, just to give you a oncrete example, just a couple weeks ago, and then are arresting women for drunk driving, taking their phones, and sharing pictures with other police officers. with each other, he did not even 100 find out about it. find out how many times they get turned away by lawyer's. there's no money there, no reason to pursue this. for all these reasons, we are responding to an issue where thousands of victims have come forward and said that they cannot get any relief from the law. they are not going to second-guess --

here's lawrence. >>> scattered showers continuing to fall. some downpours out there as well so you will be driving along and all of a sudden you're in a downpour. more scattered showers right now in the bay area. another band making its way along the peninsula but heavy in the east bay you can see showers just north of livermore toward antioch into tracy. heavier downpours in tracy. in the mountains we are seeing showers there toward fremont. more scattered showers towards san jose. so already pretty impressive. more than a half inch in some of the mountains. so some good much-needed rain falling now. very slick out there. we are seeing some fog so be careful on the roads. temperatures now in the 50s out the door. and looks like this all begins to wind down toward the middle of the day and by the afternoon, i think we'll see some sunshine and a mixture of sun and clouds. temperatures will be cool. the numbers running in the 60s around the bay area. a little breezy. and by the way, gusty winds too, some of those gusts 20 and 30 miles per hour.
