(ken) kron-4's chief meteorologist lawrence karnow is here now with the forecast lawrence karnow: it was mostly sunny and breezy for most of the bay with patchy coastal fog. highs today were in the 70s and 80s inland with 50s and 60s at the coast. fires continue to burn bringing more smoke to bay area skies. poor air quality will continue for the central and southern san joaquin valley. on the satellite a low pressure system in the gulf of alaska will move south off the coast by tomorrow. that will bring stronger onshore winds and increase the amount of moisture in the atmosphere which should slow bay area fires. with a more westerly wing we can expect improving air quality and cooler temperatures for the 4th of july. it will likely be foggy along the coast and inside the bay for fireworks while remaining mostly clear inland. highs tomorrow wl be cooler and in the 70s inland with 50s and 60s at the coast and 60s and 70s around the bay. it will begin to warm on thursday. friday will be partly cloudy with remnants hurricane moving overhead. it will likely be a little muggy too. hot wea
