he's accused of murdering bob lee it's that he stabbed bob lee, but he claims it was self-defense. prosecutors say it was all premeditated that he planned all of this and executed this plan on april 4th of 2023 in the overnight hours when he and lee were on the streets of san francisco when he stabbed lee in the heart and left him to die. lee actually called 9-1-1, but never said who stabbed him. authorities ultimately tracked many a few days later in emeryville. so we are talking a year and a half in the making. the trial lasted 6 month, 6 weeks and deliberations. 7 days got a chance to talk to chris tilly and she says she's not surprised that it took so long telling me if you saw us live at 9.15, she says that for every week of trial, it's one day of deliberations. so she's not worried about how long it took. but she did tell me that anything less than first-degree murder, which is premeditation, that she claims it will be an injustice to her and her family. so stay tuned as soon as this all goes down, we will let you know exactly what happens to be first degree second degree mur

painting a chilling picture of the night lee was fatally stabbed. a killing that they argue was intentional and planned by nima momeni >> i don't want bob's kids to watch the man that killed him back on the street that is the main thing, right? i never want to see that happen. >> reporter: as the prosecutor made his final pitch to the jury a new piece of evidence shown for the first time cast doubt on momeni's defense. the video captured just 30 minutes before the fatal encounter shows lee walking out of the millennial tower apartments, a gust of wind catches his jacket, lifting it just enough to reveal nothing. no sign of a weapon weighing down his right front jacket pocket as the defense had claimed. >> that was the pocket where the knife was supposed to be according to momeni. but, bob lee's jacket pocket on the right side was not weighted down. it was cooberation that bob lee not only was not the type of person to be carrying a knife but he appeared to be, in fact, not carrying a knife. >> reporter: inside the courtroom the videolanding like a b

he is accused of stabbing and killing lee april of last year. abc seven news reporter melanie woodrow has been following the story from the very beginning. she was in court throughout the day, joining us live now with the latest. melanie julian nimmo many defense attorneys had their chance today to persuade jurors defense attorney sam zanganeh appealed to jurors. >> common sense making argument after argument, attempting to introduce doubt into the government's case. the most powerful punch coming at the end of his closing arguments, as he showed jurors surveillance video of bob lee and his friend bo moazzami outside the downtown social club. the battery in that video, zanganeh suggested you could see lee allegedly doing drugs off of an object that looked to be the same size as the knife, the murder weapon in this case. adding to the defense's theory that it was bob lee who pulled a knife on nima momeni and not the other way around. defense attorney sam zanganeh even produced a cardboard knife today that he demonstrated to jurors to show the siz

they say lee brandished the night after being upset with many after he quote made a bad joke about lee spending too much time in strip clubs and not enough time with his family. the defense played a video outside of the battery club in san francisco. the same monthly was killed, saying the video that we showed today shows lee using the night he was killed with to snort drugs. the prosecution many stabbed lee because of how upset he was with the introducing his sister khazar a drug dealer. he sexually assaulted her lawyers many downplayed that assault today saying the sister was touched on the and there's no way many would kill another person because of that. defense lawyers also told jurors that because ours witness big part of this trial and long-awaited should not be trusted because of her history with drugs and alcohol. i spoke with both lee's brother, an attorney many about the video that was played in court today. the defense claiming when the defense claims that lee was holding the knife, he was killed. >> here is going to be able to back and look at that. but i'm telling you the

apartment, took lee to an isolated spot, and quickly fled afterwards. the motive, prosecutors say, was that lee introduced his sister hussar to jeremy boivin, a drug dealer who she testified during this trial drugged and sexually assaulted her. prosecutors say momeni carefully curated his self-defense story around the evidence, and that his defense team paid experts to testify, who admitted on the stand that they workshopped possible scenarios of what could have happened to match bob lee's three stab wounds two to his chest, including one to his heart and one to his hip. they also emphasized that momeni concealed evidence by throwing the knife over the caltrans fence and bringing his vehicle to his mom's house. after lee's murder. also that the jacket he was wearing that night has never been located. lee's brother spoke to reporters about the prosecution's closing arguments. >> i think they did a great job of summing up this case and really putting it in perspective and really drawing in what the facts are of this case. >> the prosecution's closing argu
