oakland mayor libby schaaf said the violence she saw last night crossed the line and she urged peopleo stay home. >>> oakland police -- i want to show you this -- they released preliminary information about incidents during these protests. these are the totals from friday and saturday night from oakland pd. they say in total from two nights now 21 people were arrested by oakland police. ten people were arrested by outside agencies. and six oakland police officers were injured. seven officers from outside agencies were injured. no injuries to officers happened this past night. all of those injuries were friday night into saturday morning. >>> now in the north bay, protests in santa rosa also turned violent. police stopped crowds from entering the downtown transit mall. you see glass window panes were broken. officers used tear gas to disperse the protesters after police were getting rocks and bottles thrown at them. last night they advised businesses to close early and residents avoid the downtown area. there's no word yet from the police department how many people were detained or arr

later today mayor libby schaaf plans to show off the first installation of that san francisco is closing 13 more streets for social distancing. "the chronicle" reports it includes streets in the mission. this is in addition to the streets already closed like in golden gate park. san francisco has 34 miles of closed rolls for people to spread out. >> berkeley advocates want to help those in granny units. the board says the city has between 400 and 1,000 of those types of units. >>> even during the pandemic people continue to move to california. californians are having fewer children. last year the state added nearly 90,000 people. in the '80s the growth would be around half a million. the pandemic has kept kids at home. the future of camps and programs within the city. >>> saying good-bye to standardized testing. now the board of regents voted to stop s.a.t. and a.c.t. tests as admission requirements through 2024. regents want to phase out the test completely in five years. the uc system is working to create a new test for freshmen applicants. >>> san jose state celebrates the class of 20

joining us, kevin faulconer, mayor of san diego, and libby schaaf is the mayor of oakland. mayor schaaf, as california moves into this next phase of reopening, your city, oakland, alongwider bay area, is not necessarily going along with this, you're keeping stricter restrictions in place. tell us why. >> well, the bay area was the very first region in the whole country to impose shelter in place. and look, we know that that early caution has saved thousands of lives. and so our continued vigilance will save even more. and the governor has said that if counties want to be mor cautious, he supports that. that is what rules the day. and we have got to save lives in this moment. we know it's so hard. people are making tremendous sacrifices. but we have to listen to science and data and not fear. >> that's important. mayor faulconer, you're reopening san diego. but when you look at the state trends, it's not necessarily all that clear that the state as a whole is past the worst of all of this. are you prepared for the possibility that reopening san diego could lead to an uptick
