well, as we heard from linda thomas greenfield, the united states said that there was no mention in this resolution of israel's right to self put to protect itself. and that it wasn't strong enough in a naming israel's right to protect itself. and you of excuse me, sorry, distraction here, but so the united states wanted the stronger language that, that talked about israel's right to protect itself. this after many negotiations and changes were made to the resolution. 12 people, 12 countries of the 15 on the security council did vote in favor of this resolution . and they have been speaking since the vote to express their disappointment that it didn't pass. most notably brazil that led the negotiations and drafted the resolution. they said that it is a disappointment because they have worked so hard to accommodate the concerns of all members of the council to get an urgent response. they say a sentiment echoed by many members of the security council, but it doesn't reflect well on the council which is charged with protecting peace and security. let me give you some of the other comments
