abc action news anchor lindsay logue arrived at the scene 45 minutes ago. you just spoke to the home's owner. >> reporter: the homeowner, the woman who lives here told me the impact was so loud she thought someone was breaking into the house. look at the damage behind me. the white picket fence is in pieces on the ground. the bottom half of the chimney is cut off. the side of the house is destroyed and that window where you see the black trash bag, the glass from that, the impact shattered that glass all the way into the bedroom. deputies tell me this happened they say a driver took a turn on mlk and 5th way too fast the house. the damage here is a lot more than what you can see. the car hit the electrical box cutting off the power. deputies on scene said the car was stolen from clearwater and right now the driver and two other people are on the run. >> they immediately had canine units, helicopters, everything out here looking for them, unfortunately didn't find them. but you're kind of, i don't know, these situations are crazy, where do you even start? >>

abc action news anchor lindsay logue is live where authorities captured the suspected gunman. it's really bizarre where they found him. >> reporter: they say they caught up with the guy at this 7-eleven in sarasota. in fact take a look at this, this silver toyota corolla, this is the suspect's vehicle. still parked here at this 7- eleven. this whole thing happened about 301 in palmetto. police there say the guy got into a road rage incident with another vehicle. and fired shots at that vehicle in palmetto. while the suspect continued south on u.s. 301, figured he was far enough away, it was safe to pull into the 7-eleven for coffee, by then palmetto police alerted manatee county deputies to be on the lookout for the car and a deputy happened to be at the same intersection at the 7-eleven. got out of his vehicle, questioned the driver and detained him until police arrived. the victims weren't actually shot but you can imagine the terrifying and rattling morning to have been fired at, and bullets lodged into their vehicle. they were taken down here to the 7-eleven to identify th

. >> lindsay logue is live at the aquarium. they're in need of help this morning. >>reporter: dan and deiah, they sure are. the team is stretched then. biologist are working around the clock to save the turtles. they broke in their 70th live sea turtle just this morning. many of them have been stunned by the cold and they're but many are battling a virus. a benign tumor that requires critical car and a year of rehab before they can be released to the wild. if you have been to the clearwater aquarium, you know it's not a big facility, and so they don't have space for all of these turtles that they're taking in. so they're calling other facilities throughout the state asking them to take in some of these turtles. i want to bring in joe applefield. she's the senior volunteer on the turtle team helping to rescue these sick and stranded turtles on the bay area beaches. we get a cold snap every january and february, is this different? >> this is not different. when we get the cold snaps, these are reptiles who do not tolerate cold weather that well, and when we get the w

i'm lindsay logue. >>> we start with breaking news. also the people shot at a north tampa hookah bar. at least one person is dead. jake peterson is learning new details at this moment. >> reporter: good morning. showing me the active scene. we are here. detectives tell us they were called here around 4:15 a.m. 50 people were leaving the bar and restaurant. some type of altercation broke out. they say a male suspect went to his car, got a gun and started shooting into a crowd of about 50 people. four of this people were struck. as you can see, there is obviously multiple shots fired. you can see the shell casings on the ground right now. we know that one male subject did die after he was shot. three others were taken to the hospital. a male in his 20s, another male in his 20s and a female in her 30s. detectives tell us this is an active investigation. >> we are currently in the scene as you can see. we've conducted interviews with the patrons and will be interviewing the victims as their medical conditition allows us. the three other in

abc action news anchor lindsay logue is live in tampa. what are local officials planning to do to fight back against zika virus? >> reporter: i can tell you a little later this morning the hillsborough county commissioners will meet to discuss the best ways to protect the public. 99.9% of the zika virus cases have been transmitted through mosquitos so battling them is the key. commissioners haven't outlined the details yet but we expect them to reiterate the guidelines set by the w.h.o. pregnant women shouldn't travel to central or south america. if you're where the mosquitos breed and live, wear long pants and use bug spray. and they are likely going to address mosquito control and the similar way -- they fight other viruses. the big concern is pregnant women now. the world health organization says at this point it's still another six to nine months before science either proves or disproves a clear connection between the ziti deceive and the babies born in the -- zika virus and the babies born in the affected areas with the be be a norma
