commissioner loftus. >> yes. i wanted to update my colleagues. we had a presentation from the crime lab on the issue of untested and sexual assault kits and the success of the other program that started in 2010 to expedite stranger rape kits from being tested. we heard about the significant investment the department heard in increasing the number of criminalists and trained and the work is right. i wanted to get back to folks there are a couple of follow ups happening within the department. there is a audit that is being done of the property room to ensure there aren't any untested kits which we know is common in labs and medical examiner's offices and they're making sure of that. in addition to that they're doing a review of the untested kits which they have identified and determining whether the reason it was untested whether a criminal case wasn't filed, whether consent was the issue in the case and the da wouldn't be dispositive in the case so i think we will hear more from the department as they continue to improve. i think there is consensu
