look at this. if you say commodity dollars inverse relationship, it's flat over the last couple days. i don't know how we could be saying this is purely, you know, the dollar affecting all boats. i will tell you if you look at europe last week they had great data. an export number in germany tells you shouldn't they also be suffering from the same trade? i mean, the european economy is more or less in line with what we're doing or where at least we are in this economic cycle. >> the implications of the dollar rallying is what you want to focus on in the commodity space. yes the crv has been flat over the last couple days but a lot of it is the participation of soft commodities, sugar. a lot of commodities investors don't really get to invest in. if you look at the dollar right now what's carrying it higher, it is the unwind of this carry trade, the unwind of the dollar itself being a funded currency. what is the implication if this continues? the implication would be that oil will continue to move

we look at the benchmark. now the s&p is the one we really look at into double digit land. it's hard to ignore that and you've got to feel like i can't be too underinvested in this market. those valuation shorts you're talking about have been really painful. even though some things are far more attractively priced now i can't short more of them because i just -- there is no -- nothing is to say they can't go to -- it's more than ridiculous. >> there are a couple things people need to have tied up to get the market going higher. including possibly bank of america and their settlement with the sec. psychologically that's important. the treasury announced their refunding next quarter which is much less coming in at $415 billion versus over 500. so it looks like the government is getting the deficit at least back under control. you have stories, a dollar that continues to weaken but it's orderly. people don't like that but the bottom line is this will allow commodities and a lot of the risk assets and that tells you the risk trade is on. these are all part of the bigger picture

how does it look? >> it looks pretty good. about 36 hours ago this was a powerhouse, category 4 storm. one of the strongest in the planet. it has weakened significantly. there are two big reasons, one of the biggest reasons as to why it has weakened because of this number, 77 degrees. those are water temperatures you have between this system and the hawaiian islands. to maintain that same strength it's got to have 80 degrees or higher. another thing is the idea of strong upper-level winds that are going to be coming in from the southwest. that's going to cause shear. it's going to cause this storm to rip apart a bit. when that occurs it will lose its intensity. take a look at what we've seen. it lost a lot of its structure. if you look at the forecast path, we'll put that into motion for you. it still has more of a westerly move than expected. it could go farther to the north or south of the big island as we get onto early tuesday morning. as it weakens, it should become a minimal tropical storm, maybe even a tropical depressi
