. >> that said, i'm sure they're still a bit wary of people -- speaking to nike in particular, lorainat is your sort of thought? the new ceo is taking over in a couple of weeks. it's going to be a difficult turn around story for him. but are you optimistic or cautious on owning the shares at this point? >> i'm optimistic. i mean, obviously we have earnings tonight, so we have a big catalyst coming up. i would say that tonight's earnings, which are their first quarter, are way less important to investors than what they say about the outlook. so we've just finished the first quarter. i think there's a lot of excitement about new leadership taking over, repairing some wholesale relationships, and really accelerating the innovation that nike needs to turn the business. we won't hear from the new management team tonight, because he hasn't started yet, but i think we will get a road map on recovering sales back to stable, and then potentially to growth. i think that's going to be really important for the shares here. we have a buy on the stock, and i think tonight could really set the stage

. >>> there have been long lines today as we watch early voting in suburban cleveland, lorain, ohio,s will have to decide not just whether democratic senator sherrod brown can hold his seat, but whether democrats can cold control of the senate. the republican state and that republican county in which trump won in the last two elections is a kind of litmus test on which split voters will save the election this time. nbc's ali vitali is there. ali, you're back in my stomping grounds. i know 1.8 million people have already voted in ohio. that's a third of the totally from 2020. what's going on there now? and what are folks telling you? >> reporter: yeah, i'm going to start calling this the chris jansing state. of course, you're the person i always think of every time i make a trip to ohio. my friend, it has been busy out here. we've been out here several hours and this line, this is typically where it's at when it's shortest. take a look at where we are, i'll spin around so you can get a sense of how many people are here for this critical day of early voting. in my conversations with th

joining us now, nbc capitol hill correspondent ali vitali who is in lorain, ohio.ioans know him well. does he have a shot even though kamala harris does not as of now have a real shot at winning ohio? >> reporter: katy, at this point, if anyone has a shot at outperforming the top of the ticket it's senator sherrod brown, because he's done it before. but here at this polling place in lorraine county, we have frankly had a line with us all day. voters have been standing outside waiting to cast their ballot during this early voting period. they're averaging about 1700 voters here today on a daily basis since early voting started. and when we came here, it was because we were looking for those voters not just who were going to be voting all demdown the ticket or all republican down the ticket but those who might be willing to split. specifically if there were republicans who would also be voting for their longtime senator here, despite the fact that he has a "d" after his name. we only managed to find one of those people, and she didn't want to talk to us on camera. sh
