is extending his anti-price gouging executive order today to keep protections in place for los angeles county fire storm survivors. the department of justice has already filed two charges against real estate agents attempting to price gouge families who evacuated from the eaton fire. the doj has sent out more than 650 warnings and letters to hotels and landlords. the executive order prohibiting price gouging on building materials, construction and storage services is now in effect until january of next year, and the order that prevents more than 10% increase on hotels, motels and rentals is in effect until march 8th of this year. >> well, february starting off with some raindrops, especially up in the north bay today and tomorrow. that rain line wants to move to the north a little bit. so as a result, rain likely for the north bay. showers elsewhere probably taper the scale. scale back on the shower activity tomorrow compared to today. and then some gusty winds still around 30 to 40 miles an hour. so that's kind of the setup into your sunday forecast. once again, the bulk of the rainfall will

celebrating the year of the snake may have started at least one of last month's destructive fires in los angeles countysouthern california edison believes its equipment may have started the hurst fire, which scorched 800 acres in los angeles. the hurst fire started on the same day as the much larger eaton fire in altadena. despite several lawsuits blaming southern california edison's equipment for the eaton fire, the utility says there is still no evidence to support those claims. the disaster toll from the wildfires continues to climb. today, allstate insurance announced it will pay out $1.1 billion in claims, but allstate's liability is just a fraction of the total insurance claims from the fires. they are projected to cost the industry up to $45 billion. >> governor newsom today called his meeting with president trump productive and spirited, after the two men talked about l.a. county wildfire recovery efforts. >> the president wants to do something that's never been done, and that is address this crisis with a degree ofss this sophistication and focus to get the job done and get people's lives back
