we are following breaking news from loudoun county, virginia. that is where authorities have evacuated the shenandoah building. the bomb squad is there on the scene. investigating a suspicious package. the building is home to several loudoun county government offices. authorities are asking people to avoid the area. about two-thirds of the people forced from the apartment complex yesterday in riverdale are now allowed to return. part of the towers apartments were condemned because of damage from the june 29 storm and other storms which followed. authorities allowed people living in 43 of the 65 units to return yesterday. the remaining 22 have been told it is not safe and repairs could take up to three months. in an hour, pepco will face music. company executives will go before the d.c. council to answer questions about why it took over a week to restore power to everyone. john gonzalez is outside the wilson building with what to expect. >> we ask those company executives if they would comment before the hearing at 1:00 p.m. they declined. 66,000

. >> we have some new warnings, they added loudoun county to the mix and frederick county, maryland. again, severe thunderstorm warnings have also extended from montgomery county until 5:45. let's go ahead and start with live doppler 9,000. that's where it's at. there are the warnings in yellow. we'll zoom in to a couple of storms. the first one, we showed you at the top of the show and that is kind of just in western montgomery county. there's one storm there. this is a pretty heavy storm, down toward dickerson, around 28. by and large, this is the heaviest storm. anybody going up 270, you know, from gaithersburg northward. big time rains. that storm did have hail in it on the west side of 270. no longer has hail at this moment. this storm has hail up toward 32, just shy of i-70 west toward frederick. that is drifting toward i-70 west. that's going to get nasty in the next 30 minutes. we are also looking at a storm toward hagerstown. not severe, but heavy, straddling i-81 from hagerstown northwestward. so big storm there. down to the south, we're looking at a storm. this just popped
