louie sanchez age 39 and 39- year-old marvin norwood are the two lead suspects in this case. they were charged monday with assault and mayhem. mayhem is described as doing -- disable or disfiguring a victim. both men have a history of domestic violence and problems with the law. both have convictions for domestic violence. sanchez has a history of drunk driving, evading police and even carrying a loaded gun in public. as for norwood when his house was searched police found five firearms including an assault rifle. no family members are in attendance in court as the defendants made their first court appearance on monday. the lawyers say the clients don't fit the profile of the suspect and norwood's ailing mother says she still can't believe her son is involved. >> this is what bothers me because of the compassion that he has. police arrested 29-year-old louie sanchez and 30-year-old marvin norwood on thursday. police say they match the suspect descriptions, andfrom r. as the focus of the investigation moves towards the new suspects, police in l.a. announced giovanni ramirez who was arrested in may in connection with the attack had nothing to do with the beating and is no longer a suspect. apparently as the case against ramirez started to unravel, detectives reportedly went back to review information from people at the game. several people in the area where stow had been seated reported a pair of aggressive fans nearby. so investigators gathered ticket sales receipts from that area. and that is how they reportedly tracked down the two new suspects, sanchez and norwood. as for stow, he remains hospitalized in serious condition at san francisco general. the paramedic from santa cruz and father of two had a seizure and underwent emergency surgery last week to relieve pressure on the brain. despite the setback, the family says he is showing remarkable improvement. >> he is doing awesome. >> repo
