see low clouds above downtown san jose. walnut creek. also seeing mid 60s might have some drizzle at times. early tomorrow back over to san francisco 61 degrees. and so what's going on with the weather today? we had e it is. mill valley, six hundredths of an inch of rain, about two hundredths around san francisco, san jose. a few spotty areas of measurable drizzle and light rain around the bay area, and this is the culprit as to what happened to august. we got this area of low pressure off the pacific northwest. you compare this to the upper air pattern. we had much of july. it was the opposite strong, high pressure baking in those hot and dry temperatures. low pressure just offshore here. pulling up some tropical moisture which added to the mugginess. now notice the best chance of showers was today as we head towards tomorrow. more of that activity pulls up towards the pacific northwest and moves offshore. but for the morning hours, low clouds and still that opportunity for some drizzle to start things off on sunday morning and notice t

it will be in the low 60s there. upper 60s for downtown and in the mission district and for the north bay. it's in the mid 80s from napa to sonoma and upper 80s, as well as low 90s farther to the north. so we are seeing some warm weather, high pressure still in control across the region. but what we'll have more of an influence on a cooling trend will be along the coastline. we'll see this low dipping in that with its counterclockwise wind flow is going to help push in some of that cool ocean breeze across the bay area, and that will help bring down those temperatures by a few degrees this weekend. we're not seeing anything really significant changing here over the next week. we're going from upper 80s to mid 80s and then back to the upper 80s. so we're in a pretty steady weather pattern here, but at times the wind may get a little bit more gusty, especially for the weekend. but you can see overall our temperatures not changing too much here. and in san francisco we continue to see upper 60s for highs into early next
