eyewitness news reporter lucy yang is in the morris park section of the bronx with new information. lucy? >> reporter: well, joe, a 51- year-old bronx father is now awaiting arraignment for allegedly killing his 2-month- old baby boy. we're told a savage murder happened here in his apartment on bogart avenue in the morris park section of the bronx. we're going to show you a shortly after birth. those smiles would not last investigators tell me on december 10, the newborn, mason white, was crying as newborns do, and that 51-year-old jose him. police believe he took care of him by smothering and choking the baby to death. when the mother came out to see what had happened, she said he threatened to kill her, too. two days later, authorities report the couple disposed of the baby in a wooded area in brewster, new york. we just obtained this surveillance video from the apartment building. a worker said detectives identified this man as the father and they believe the baby's body was in the duffle bag. this heartbreaking story, finally coming to light last week when the mother apparently t

lucy yang live at one of the night clubs at the center of this case. >> reporter: these are troubling charges of corruption and bribery against several officers at the 109th precinct. instead of clamping down on illegal drugs at clubs, they're no one is singing at these karaoke clubs in flushing but informants are against two officers. a lieutenant and detective are under arrest, charged with bribery and other crimes. prosecutors believe they were getting cash each month from various karaoke bars in exchange for information on upcoming raids, keeping the karaoke bars in business proved to be a lucrative business. one of the officers was receiving $2,000 a month from one of the owners. on the force for ten years, he has now been suspended, bail set at $25,000. another officer, 50-year-old lieutenant robert sung turned now we're unable to get comments from the care observing clubs. this investigation by the attorney's office took two years and we're told more officers could be indicted in the days to come. in flushing queens tonight, lucy yang, channel 7 eyewitness news. >>> tomorrow, a

we begin with lucy yang at the scene with the lead story. lucy? >> reporter: bill, this is alert to end swiftly and with a child found unharmed. what began here in bedford park section of the bronx this afternoon has come to a quick and peaceful end in clifton, new jersey. police confirm the family's minivan was stopped on the garden state parkway less than an hour ago. most importantly, we are told the toddler, 3-year-old rebecca value len sway la was rescued unharmed. her father diomedes valenzuela is in custody. authorities believe he stabbed his wife multiple times inside their bronx apartment this afternoon before grabbing child and taking off in the family's minivan. the car was tracked crossing the g.w. bridge and from there it does not take long to zero in on the vehicle. thanks fully an arrest was made before anyone else was hurt. too early to say what triggered the violent stabbings. neighbors say they were seen together going to church. we believe the 47-year-old

lucy yang at the precinct where the suspect is being held. >> the homeless have so little in this world but tonight one homeless woman has a little justice. >> reporter: sources say the 29-year-old victim was staying at the freeman family houses in the bronx. we're told it began the victim complaining about the services at the shelter. we're told it escalated in to an argument with one of the workers. the worker then called her family to come over and together they allegedly beat up the victim with her 7-year-old daughter watching. today the worker, 29-year-old tihira washington turned herself in. police confirmed she's been charged with assault. officials report the attack happened last tuesday at 5 p.m. across the street from the shelter. >> police are looking to arrest another person in this attack. we believe it may be washington's own mother. as for the victim, a detective tells me she was was perched -- punched in the face leaving the left side of her face swollen. lucy yang, channel 7 eyewitness news. >>> donald trump tonight trying to put a positive spin on a meeting with more t
