lyanne? >> well, the teachers walking in right now to attend a meeting to discuss, of course, the possible strike, which would commence on thursday. the teachers, by the way, have been without a contract since july 2017. now this fact-finding report which we obtained today says that the district, the school district and the union are not that far apart. the issue now is bringing them back to the table. even this close to a potential strike, the oakland district and the teachers union are stuck on the logistics of a future meeting. for example, the union wants to see a new approximately in writing before sitting down with the school district. >> if it's not brought to us in writing that addresses major changes and major investment in our students, then oakland educators are going to strike. >> the district, on the other hand, says let's sit down first to discuss our latest offer, and then begin to negotiate. >> they want to avoid the strike too. why not come and sit at the table with us? it's
