there were rumors about bwi being closed and it's not. >> let's get over to lynette. she has the latest on where the storm is tracking and how soon it could make its way here. >> yes, so we are watching this storm. you can see on the satellite and radar, lots of rain pushing in. so we have plenty of flood watches and warnings up. now we are talking about landfall. this should be making landfall the next 24 hours. going through early tomorrow morning, that's when we see maybe landfall around new jersey. southern new jersey we are dealing with the cold side of the storm as well. we have been talking a lot about the warmer side. this is going to become a hybrid and we will have that jet stream reenergize this thing as it comes onto land. and also what we are watching isaround the center of the storm now, it's starting to have convection or thunderstorms popping up. but, the winds are well away from this and when you talk about a hurricane, you want the winds the strongest wind at the center but that's not happening with this storm. so that hybrid effect is taking place.

that's lynette what do you have? >> i'm going to go with a yes t especially it's bullied jamaica and cuba and we're going to see if it bullies us through the end of the weekend into early next week. so we can see hurricane sandy right now. it has weakened some moving over land but it is about to reemerge back into the waters already bringing rainfall across southeastern florida. this track will take it up towards the north and then it will have more of a little bit of a jog towards the west. and we can see this so let me show you what's going on right now. the winds sustained at about 105 miles an hour moving quickly to the north 59 about 16 miles per hour -- at about 16 miles per hour. look at the cone now. now the national hurricane center actually thinking this could still be a category 1 hurricane. we were thinking a tropical storm as it moved along the coast. and then look at the cone now. the cone actually takes it you can see the coast of new jersey and also maryland. so ocean city could be in on this so we're

. >> lynette charles is standing by with a check of the forecast. you are not surprised by what you are seeing in oc. >> no. not at all. and it's going to keep going downhill. it's not even close to making landfall yet. so, the hurricane hunters flew into the storm and this is what they got from it. the wind sustained at 85 miles an hour. it's moving to the north at 13. and the pressure has dropped at 9:46. that's -- 946 and it's 300 miles east southeast of ocean city maryland and it's pounding that area as of now. also, those outer rain bands moving into our area as well. we are looking at some heavier rain especially around the eastern shore. this will continue as we go throughout the day. so it's not going to be letting up any time soon as we go in through time, and when i say time, i mean like thursday and friday. that's when things will begin to improve but in terms of rainfall, look what we picked up across the area. about .06 in sparrows point and towards annapolis .08 so lots -- .08 -- .80. so that's the trend continuing through the day. let

let's go over to meteorologist lynette charles. >> all right. we can expect windy conditions and rainy conditions beginning to start and things are ing to continue to deteriorate as we go throughout the day. so we are waiting for sandy to make a landfall. we need it to make that westerly jog. it will do so later into the afternoon and evening time frame and that's when we look over the next 24 hours for a landfall. maybe in southern new jersey, so lots of rain being pushed onshore this morning. heavier rainfall as we look back towards the west this is where the front is going to come in contact with this system. and we are starting to see some of that snow. that changeover is happening as we have chillier air moving inbehind the cold front. this is what we can expect going through the morning and the afternoon. the wind right now coming in at about 10 miles an hour in baltimore. and say you call it breezy but we have gusts up to about 35 miles an hour that's what we have been seeing across the area for today. but the sustained wind on the easter
