maloney? >> i don't believe he's running for reaction. >> tucker: "i don't believe he's running for re-election." that's not a profound observation. of course joe biden isn't running for re-election. he can barely find the men's room. that was not very interesting. it was predictable. what was very interesting, what tells you a lot about the democratic party, is how these two candidates talked about their personal accomplishments and their goals for the country. we should tell you, having watched it, that figuring out exactly what they were trying to say was not easy. these are not spry articulate people. they're not magicians with the english language. one had to sit for the entire debate, because he was too weak to stand. at one point, he boasted about his greatest accomplishment in the congress. that would be impeaching george w. bush twice. >> an insurrection is for the republican party, for the first time in our history, trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power. therefore i am leadin

carolyn maloney does not really have that.ainst the iran deal and has kind of a checkered record on some of these progressive priorities. most importantly, for this race, nadler is the chair of the house judiciary committee and has done really excellent work on antitrust legislation and taking on big tech and afforded some of these policies that are high priority for the party this moment. carolyn maloney as they had of the house oversight committee, which has been notoriously weak in committee in congress. one tasked with obtaining president trump's tax returns. that committee is not very effective. if you're comparing the two of them, never has the record to kind of back up his claim, which is he is the new york progressive with a history and track record and should continue to be the person that new york sends to congress from this district. juan: there's another race in the 17th congressional district that pits a centrist democrat sean patrick maloney against a much more progressive state senator. can you talk about that r

nadler allies, not nadler, but allies are reportedly calling maloney kooky and not entirely sober.s considered the favorite. he secured the endorsement of chuck schumer and new york, what is very important, the editorial board of "the new york times," what's your take on all this? >> it's just crazy. hostile, ugly. it's two people who are unwilling to give up power that they have had for a very long time in the house. and i think that the debate obviously hasn't distinguished itself. and you know, on policy, they're together. >> nothing, no differences. >> what are they going to do? they're going to fight with each other like new yorkers do, except worse. i think it's offensive. it's been a terrible race for both of them. >> the nastiness is in inverse proportion to the stakes here. you're not naming maloney or nadler, there's almost no reason to care about this. >> patel, who is 38, is running on generational change. this is a perfect example of why you might need generational change. but it ain't going to happen. >> ashley, nadler responded to some of the insults from carolyn mal

this was jerry nadler's district in light blue here and this is carolyn mahoney's district, maloney'st right here in the dark blue, and the new one is in the yellow there. and that created this clash of the titans, two congress people who have been in congress for 30 years, both of them. they're both committee chairs and jerry nadler with a big win in new york. there's one other race here in new york that we're following. it's not been called yet. this is congressional district 10, and it looks like dan goldman is going to pull it out although it's very tight with state assembly woman gnu. this is 95%. it looks like he's going to pull it out we'll see let's look at a couple of other things. first of all, to florida where we now have in the situation of the governor's race a democratic opponent to ron desantis in florida, that is charlie crist, congressman charlie crist. democrat, however also former republican governor charlie crist. he wins over the florida agriculture commissioner nikki fried. and now sets up this charlie crist versus ron desantis and that will be a battle. ron desa

maloney is still trying to get out the votes, and nadler's folks are saying he feels good. schedule unlike in recent days where he's been laying low. the bottom line is this is an odd time to have a primary, and a lot of analysts you talk to say it's absentee voters. people are out of town. if they're in taupe, they may not be paying attention. whatever campaign has done a better job of reaching their voters, making sure if they're out of town, they cast their ballot for them. it's going to come down to turnout, but as you mentioned it has gotten nasty with maloney saying nadler is senile or half dead. he pushed back saying he's just fine, that's ridiculous. he's not going to comment on that, but it's gotten nasty. >> there's another incumbent house democrat in risk of losing a seat, mondaire jones. he faces a crowded progressive field in an entirely new district where his name is not as well known. >> right. this is another result of this messy redistricting process. mondaire jones was elected two years ago to represent a district just north of the city, parts of westchest
