maria sanchez and her husband were ordered by the federal government to leave their state. they have lived in the u.s. illegally for more than two decades and tried to legalize their family's status unsuccessfully. their three daughters will stay in their oakland home. one is protected by daca. before take-off, the woman and her daughter touched on what their life has been like here and why family is everything. >> i wish i don't have to leave my kids behind. but i really like to follow the law. when i came to this country illegally, i was very young. back then i didn't really understand what it meant, what had happened. i didn't came because i was trying to violate anybody's laws. i came pretty much because i was young and in love. i tried. i tried. i tried to [ indiscernible ] every, single thing i could. [ crying ] >> the family's dilemma caught of attention of dianne feinstein . her effort to get them a last- minute stay was denied. she worked until the last minute to save money for her daughters. she says it will be tough for her family but they will get through it. >>
