that's where we find marianne favro. what's the latest here? >> reporter: well, that search in this neighborhood lasted for about six hours, and now this neighborhood has been cleared, this entire area. the search stemmed from an officer involved shooting yesterday afternoon around 4:00. the sunnyvale department of public safety says officers responded to a motel six after receiving a report of suspicious activity. when they arrived, two men ran away from them. officers chased the suspects behind a commercial building, and that's where the officer shot and killed one suspect. they found a gun near his body and a gun in a backpack he was carrying. officers combed the area near ferndale and madrone looking for the second suspect believed to be armed. neighbors here say that made them a little nervous. >> with all the police activity, i did sense there was somebody at large and that was possibly armed and dangerous. >> reporter: sunnyvale called in help from the santa clara county sheriff's department which used a helicopter to try to track down t
