. >> fox5's marina maracco is live on the scene with the very latest. marina, what can you tell us in. >>reporter: residents now speaking with management here because it seems like they're about to be let back into the building. the first call came in at roughly eight:30 at the height of the tomorrow as it was passing through this part of prince george's county. windows hattering, people believing that the walls were starting to you can about l. in fact, it turns out that the drywalls were cracking. prince george's county firefighters went in there they've got engineers now assessing the damage. and it seems like as far as tour goes everything is okay. these are the presidential towers in adelphi. they're 20 stories high, two buildings and about 40 percent of both these buildings have been evacuated for now. initially it seemed like like this was going to be a large displacement but as the night is going on, it seems like these folks are going to go back into their homes at least for the night although there may be somewhat they're calling cosmetic damag

fox5's marina maracco just got to the scene. what are you seeing so far there, marina. >>reporter: well, about 50 percent of this billing has been displaced. residents out here right now and you can see the scene here because prince george's county fire on the scene trying to assess the damage. i actually have with me a spokesperson for prince george's county fire mark brady mark, first,ly you thought this was more of a structural situation, but it seems like things are better tonight and hopefully allowing these residents to go back in. we hope so. when this storm roled through at about pressurized some spaces and pushed out some walls not causing structural damage, but cosmetic to drywall. we had a broken window or two, some window blinds are ruffled up. some strong winds entered this building and somehow pressurized confined is enough to push out the walls. two buildings of the presidential towers off here of presidential tower. do you think they'll be a able to go back in tonight. >> we have engineers checking inside. they found everything we found that everything a

marina maracco is here with more on what happened next. >>reporter: as you know there's been a lot of confusion as to what exactly happened here this afternoon. we just got the police report here minutes ago so things changing the narrative of what exactly took place and d.c. tonight officially confirming this was a robbery. however, they're not saying if the person who called 911, the complainant and the suspect knew each other. they're saying that the call came here from the exxon gas station and that's where the confusion was whether in fact the gas staying was robbed. the gas station itself was not robbed this afternoon. however, they tried to get a better picture of what exactly took place. they looked for surveillance video and did not find any. so they're relying on witness statements and their investigation to figure out exactly what took place here this afternoon when they got the call just afternoon. now you'll see this video from earlier today. the man was arrested by police. he was taken in for questioning and i cording to this
