"today in the bay's" marla tellez joins us. the ban could even be overturned. >> that's right. next month, boy scouts of america are expected to timely make their decision about whether to allow gay members and leaders into their association. one southern california lawmaker does not have the patience for that. he is introducing what's called the youth equality act. lawmakers will consider it for the first time. it would deny tax exempt status to nonprofit youth groups that discriminate on the basis of gender identity, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion or religious affiliation. this means the boy scouts and its california affiliates would have to pay corporate taxes on donations, membership dues, camp fees and other sources of income. senator outright admits that it is to put pressure on their anti-gay policy. the openly gay scout denied the rank of eagle scout even though he complete d all his requirements. it is safe to say that he and his family will support this new bill. not sure that the governor will jump on board tax increase based on ideology alone. to pe

i'm marla tellez.athon bombings in just a bit. here is what's making headlines in the bay area. investigators near hayward are looking into the a deadly crash involving an alameda county sheriff's deputies patrol car. a man killed and woman taken to the hospital. the death deputy, a nine-year veteran was not hurt in the crash. >>> a big rig carrying sea food crashed on the side of 101. it happened around 5:30 on the northbound side of bailey avenue. the driver was trapped inside for a little bit but is okay. the crash tied up traffic as the tow truck removed the big rig from the scene. >>> a former livermore high school teacher is likely headed to prison for having a sexual relationship with a student. marie johnson pleaded no contest to nine felony charges. sentencing is scheduled for next month and she faces up to nine years behind bars. prosecutors say johnson, who tut math at grenada high school, had a six-month relationship with a student beginning in late 2010. >>> a teenager boy accused of shoot
