angela: a shooting right across the street from the university of florida at the marquis apartments. greg fox is live outside the complex. greg, police and deputies have been trying to stop the violent crime in that area. reporter: they have. that has been going on since last june when apartment management here at the marquis began meeting with police after a series of shootings here just south of university boulevard. look at this video taken early this morning. the shooting happened around 11:30 last night. ucf police tell us a young man came running over to one of their vehicles saying his friend was shot in the back while in the apartment garage. the victim was identified as 19-year-old joshua howie of jacksonville who currently reside here at the marquis and he said he wasn' t shot in the stomach by three attackers, but did not get a good look at them. halley is expected to recover from his wound. the marquis is not one of the three off-campus apartments patrolled by police, but the sheriff' s office has been stepping up patrols in this area and meeting with apartment management
