i heard about martin luther king jr. in 1957. became the next year in 1958 at the age of 15. my folks can't seem to get in trouble. dr. mengele. rosa parks and martin luther king jr. inspired me to find a way to get in the way. i was so inspired the 1956 at the age of 16, with my brothers and sisters and cousins at the public library and troy, alabama trying to get library cards. trying to check out books. i never went back to that library until july 5th, 1998 with my buck, "walking with the wind."
