i want to start here with marty and -- alfonso i'll get back to you in a second. marty, you tried to get in on the president's making home affordable program the next day after he announced it. tell us about your story about trying to get a loan mod and why you were seeking one. >> well, i'm seeking a loan mod because, as you mentioned, many of us are unemployed. i was laid off in february 2008 and was starting to run out of savings and the president's announcement sounded great. so what i did is the next morning i called up wells fargo and they told me that i had to wait until april to file, and then the beginning of april they told me to still wait. i finally got to file on april 15th. i think that they accepted the filing or whatever they call it on april 22nd. then i waited more and called every week to find out what was going on. >> so you're really not getting traction here, right? >> no. >> but he's still frustrated. he's not getting through, and he's lost his job. so now he is in the worst of all worlds. is there anybody to turn to at this point? >> yeah.

marty has more on what marylanders can expect from the storm. but we begin with meteorologist tim williams, who is tracking the system for us. >> reporter: for as much this storm is going to impact us, it is struggling for its own existence. let's explain this. take a look at the satellite. this is infrared imagery of this storm. as you see, the storms associated with this are all over the place. we're talking about the actual rain, actual winds. primarily to the east side of this storm. what you're seeing there, all of the brighter colors, they are east of the center of circulation. it is very hard to distinguish. it is part of a rotation you see there, off to the left, between those storms. and our first warning bug, right there on the left of the screen. let's talk about the latest update. latest update has danny now, never really getting its act together to turn into a minimal hurricane. that is significant. because each -- even as 11:00, this was turning into a category 1 hurricane as it moved on by the maryland shores. the thought is that

for more, to marty bass. >>> good afternoon, the projected rainfall totals tomorrow through tomorrow night for central maryland and the mid-atlantic. looks like none. the bulk of moisture is going to be north of the mason dixon line and into the valley primarily because of low moving our way from georgia. danny is not really a player in our moisture content. it appears right now, the bulk of rain we're going to get is frankly going to be this day because of that upper-level low and that is why we have flood watches in effect for almost every county in maryland. note along the coast, just as a matter of precaution, we have a surf and ocean advisory, no warning, what right, we want to talk about the flood watches on the shore. for a bigger look at that, here's meteorologist tim williams again. >> to further illustrate what marty is talking about, looking at radar, we have an active afternoon shaping up, late last night we had an inch half of rain, you can see the moisture coming in from the gulf along the panhandle of florida. rain from west virginia an all this converging on maryland.

had, we've also seen some changes in our rainfall, and for more on that we're going to sent over to marty in the outback. >> hey, bern. thank you very much. numbers can get boring every once in awhile but every once in awhile it's the numbers that tell the story. for 23 days in july we had bare al trace of rain. in our rainfall, not deficit, but the rainfall that we had on the positive side of the scale, was at about three and a half inches up from northerly when we began the month. at the 23rd, we had almost used up our reservoir, if you will, of rainfall. well, now we are, look at that with 3.15 inches of rain, essential through four storms over the past ten day, we're back up to three and a half inches on the plus side of our normal rainfall. so indeed we did after bit of a mini summertime drought, but that was quickly erased over just a third of the month of july. so the question is is when's our next rain coming? are we going to add to that 3.54 total? well, maybe. just depends. meteorologist bernadette woods with some midweek thunderstorms likely and those details coming up shortly.
