newscenter 5's mary saladna is live at the weston tolls with know, if you don't have a transponder, get one. the are free. starting next friday at 10 p.m., the tolls will no longer be accepting cash. big changes are coming starting the last weekend of october. that's when massdot begins tearing down all 26 toll plazas. commuters will no longer pay as they exit the toll roads, instead you'll be charged as you pass thru the state's 16 new overhead gantries. here's the timeline you need to know. friday, october 28 at 10 p.m., the all electronic tolling system switches over, cash will no longer be accepted at toll booths and the next day at 5pm, new traffic patterns kick in at all toll plazas and sunday at noon, demolition of the toll plazas begins. that means the first real traffic test will be monday morning rush hour on halloween. commuters can expect some scary back-ups. will be channeled into your lanes and stay in those lanes all the way through until you get to the connecting road you're going to. mary: massdot officials are laying out their plans in a series of community meetings, t
