you get into eastern massachusetts, you cannot avoid the rain. it's light but it is steady for the most part. that's coming out of a pretty good clip. most of us end up a quarter to half an inch of rain in some locally higher amounts. the steadest amount along route three. this is all going to be filling in on the cape and islands in the next hour or so. so it's a thin band that comes through the back edge, pushing east by 8:8:30 the city of boston. 9:00 a.m. we're drying out. getting breaks of sunshine. by 10:00 a.m., the rain is really confined to the southshore back down to cape cod. there will be some showers that linger until about mid-day to early afternoon on the outer cape of nantucket, especially. then we do see some breaking of the cloud cover. turns into a nice afternoon north and west of boston. some stubborn clouds linger a little bit longer. i do anticipate some peeks of so where the sun breaks, we come in the 70s. 70 to 75 degrees today. that's actually slightly above average for this time of the year. the clouds do return tonight,
