i'm matt breen. sheila has the night off. sioux city police continue to investigate a shooting that sent two people to the hospital friday night. the incident happened on the 1400 block of isabella st. in sioux city, shortly before 11. ktiv's tiffany lane has new details on the couple involved in the shooting. tiffany? matt, authorities say 35 year-old nadia broady and her boyfriend, 23 year-old mykale johnson were engaged in a mutual domestic assault, where a handgun was involved. << the incident happened on the 1400 block of isabella st. in sioux city, shortly before 11 friday night. johnson and broady had a struggle outside their home at 14-17 isabella, where the gun went off. johnson was shot in the hand, while an unnamed female family member was hit in the chest. authorities believe both individuals were struck by the same single bullet. the handgun was later found by officers in a neighbor's yard. broady has been charged with aggravated domestic assault and felon in possesion of a firearm. johnson is charged with aggrav

i'm matt breen. sheila brummer has the night off. it's a story that would give any parent nightmares. a baby, left to die, in a vacant mobile home. 20 years later, investigators still don't have answers. storm lake police found baby john doe, wrapped in a sweatshirt, in the closet of a mobile home on october 17th, 1995. the two officers were on routine patrol when they found the baby's body. they noticed a boarded window had been broken, and they went inside not knowing the tragedy they would discover. an autopsy revealed the infant died of neglect, or exposure. during the baby's funeral , and then helped pay for a proper burial. saturday marked 20- year since the discovery of baby doe's body. but, there is still no information on who baby doe's parents are, or who is responsible for his death. ktiv's tiffany lane spoke with the storm lake police department as they continue to investigate. << baby doe's life and death remains a mystery for the storm lake, iowa community. but law enforcers say they will not stop until they find answer

for all of us at nbc news, thank you for night.i'm matt breen. sheila has the night off. researchers are always looking for sustainable ways to provide energy. in fact, in south sioux city, nebraska, wood waste is being used to make eleltricity. ktiv's sam curtiss joins us in the newsroom tonight. he spoke with people working on the project and has the details. sam? matt, pretty soon a unit, kind of like the one you'll see in a second, will be hooked up to a transformer in south sioux city. that unit will generate electricity for various uses from wood chips. this is a smaller unit than the one the city will be using, just for demonstration purposes today. basically, the gas produced from unburned wood chips is what creates the electricity. the ty used a $216,000 grant to fund this. on top of that, they spent $50,000 of the city's money on it but say they'll save almost that each year. "two things, it's going to let us use a lot of the trees and shrubs [and] any woody mass-type substance allow us to dispose of it and make energy out of it," id rod koch. "it will save us a

for all of us at nbc night.i'm robert lowe in for sheila brummer, matt breen will join us in just a few minutes. a florida man wanted in connection to a homicide has been spotted in the sioux city area. authorities say 28-year- old jonathan berrio is wanted on second degree murder charges in connection with a homicide in miami, florida. police confirm berrio was sighted in sioux city this week where they say some of his family lives. berrio is a white male and has a tattoo of a knife under his left eye. police say he's a threat to the public. "he should be considered armed and dangerous," said detective nick thompson with the sioux city police department. "if anybody locates him, they should not approach him. we request that they call 911 right away and provide the information so we can react appropiately." if you have any information on berrio's whereabouts, contact the numbers on your screen. crime stoppers is offering a reward of up to three-thousand dollars if a tip leads to an arrest. it was an afternoon of bragging rights and looking to the future in south sioux city, nebraska. kt
