matt keller is on 17. matt? >> yes, this is not going to be good.he southbound direction you can see the cars are being diverted here at s road off of 17 and they are being turned around on to the northbound lanes back into santa clara county. this is the reverse commute side so you know that the northbound side is much, much worse and people from santa cruz are trying to get into silicon valley and i have the san jose c.h.p. office. can you explain what happened at the cut off? >>> essentially it sounds like a tree fell over into the lanes. we did not know the cause. we presume it is weather related. however, the free is across the southbound lane and it knocked down power lined that extended across the southbound and northbound lane. we have had to top traffic if both directions to avoid crossing the power lines. >> we hear there is a backup on the northbound side maybe 100 vehicles. >> yes, the last update was 15 or 20 minutes ago with 100 vehicles including big rigs and they were working on getting the small vehicles turned around because of the

matt keller has details on the toxic threat. >>> san jose firefighters are down at the station and the goal was to make sure the area where the station was, was prosecuted from all emergencies. they are patrolling the area. this is video of the station that is closed down station 16 on south king road an older building away for decades. firefighters found mold inside the station and that has been an issue. it looks as if it was waste. possibly from the recent rain. they called out the command staff and the command staff determines it could be unhealthy to thereby so though closed the station. >> a tire spokesman said they had crews patrolling the area in east san jose during the peak hours with the goal to protect the accidents of the area and protecting the firefighters and not putting them in a hazardous situation inside station 16. it is not uncommon for other stations to cover areas when crews are dealing with big built if like house fires. firefighters say last night was not busy. this is just a temporary fix. firefighters expect to have a more detailed plan on what will happen ne

abc 7 news reporter matt keller went inside to take a look at the potential problem. >> before walking through the doors leading to the tv room at san jose fire department station 16 on south king road, we were warned it was considered a hot zone because of mold. inside, more plastic sheeting around the kitchen area, cleaning supplies on the counter and red tape saying do not enter. the mold problem was discovered about nine months ago when a firefighter spokesman believes the recent rain may have caused it to spread into the living spaces. command staff determined yesterday it might be unhealthy for the 24 firefighters who use station 16 to be inside and closed it down for further inspection. >> station 16 is one of our oldest stations, one of our busiest areas. it's the heart of east side san jose. we are cognizant there's a high call volume there. i know our senior staff is diligently coming up with a plan. >> reporter: the san jose fire department says it's having crews patrol station 16's district during peak hours so firefighters can quickly respond to medical and fire emergencie
