and matt pelman is in for karen rogers taking a look at traffic. good morning. >> in our immediate future you can see that there are a few lingering clouds left over from yesterday but they are in the process of eroding out in the north and west. as dry air pushes in we'll see a couple nice changes. clouds going away. rain continuing to shift off the coast and humidity on the way down. 71 degrees right now in philadelphia, warm as you step outside in the city. still 66 in allentown, 67 in reading. 70 in wilmington and trenton, 67 in millville and 64 at this early hour in cape may. now, for now the humidity is still noticeable. we've got a dewpoint of 67. a little bit lower numbers up in the poconos not toward reading though and as that dry air comes in you'll see those dewpoints drop. the humidity will go down and it will start to feel better as we go through the morning and afternoon. on the bus stop this morning, 69 degrees by 6 o'clock. 73 by 8:00 a.m. and as we roll through the afternoon it is going to be warm, probably still a good idea to hav

let's go over to matt pelman. of people back to school, back to work today. >> yeah, the problem with today versus yesterday it's not a holiday anymore so these people have to get back to work and back to school. we're helping them out with a pretty nice ride on the way so far as you come out of the burbs just a broken down vehicle along the schuylkill expressway. eastbound side between conshohocken and the curve looks like penndot's there now helping them out and the good news is both of the eastbound lanes are opened and ready for you with no delays. still light volume at this point. but on 76, the pennsylvania turnpike, portion, there is some overnight construction. didn't have a lot of that because of the holiday yesterday but there is some work in the eastbound direction by downingtown. partially blocking the shoulder and the off-ramp from the eastbound lanes to downingtown so watch out for that if you're headed toward route 100. coming south on the northeast extension of the pennsylvania turnpike, maybe back

let's go live to matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center. hi, matt. >> i'm sure we've all had an opportunity to sit in traffic on the vine street expressway and look at the building because traffic there is so often jammed. it is this afternoon. we're also starting to see some raindrops out there along 422. you see them on the camera lens. the road a little bit wet and it's now a little bit slow as you come westbound on 422 away from 202 on out toward oaks. when things get slippery sometimes we have accidents especially on-ramps and there's one of those this afternoon in chester county on the ramp from reeceville road to the eastbound side of the 30 bypass we were seeing some slow speeds there and main lanes headed eastbound but right now they don't look too bad at 55 miles per hour but you see had heavy rain coming through the malvern area with speeds on 202 dropping, just 19 miles per hour at the moment. another ramp accident on the ramp from the turnpike westbound to fort washington. traffic can squeeze by. slowing just beginning on the ea

for more on that we turn to matt pelman. >> matt is in the "action news" traffic center and matt the rain is also a factor this afternoon. >> oh, we have complication after complication after complication as we try and get home and start the weekend on this friday afternoon brian and sharrie and one of those complications is the dad vail regatta which continues to block off the kelly drive in both directions between strawberry mansion and fountain green. that of course is the case until 6 o'clock tomorrow evening so you can detour around right around the ball fields there or i would stay on the other side of the river on the mlk drive or the schuylkill but speeds there in the vicinity of 11, 16 miles per hour because, yeah, it's wet and it's a friday afternoon and people are trying to get around that kelly drive closure. you can see it's really wet here on the roosevelt boulevard as well. traffic stopped at the moment here on the northbound side off the schuylkill up to broad street then farther north at devereaux there's a crash in the inner drive. over on 95 it's very dark this aft

speaking of water, matt pelman has the late of the on the commute home on a friday. matt. >> wet roads are leaving us with a buffet of traffic troubles which is not the kind of buffet we like. one of the crashes is out here in west norriton rick and monica along trooper road. these are the northbound lanes at norris hall lane here by saint sophia greek orthodox church. >>> you can see emergency crews, police on the scene and traffic is just barely squeezing by so there's quite the backlog behind this accident. not so far off in upper providence still have the crash just off 422 at cider mill and egypt and of course as we just said the kelly drive remains closed for the dad vail so you can detour around the ball fields or stay on the other side on the mlk. i think that would be the better bet. it's also putting extra people on the schuylkill so speeds there are just in the teens. have a crash in middletown township bucks county along frosty hollow road at 413 but our crash over in mercer county on 195 eastbound has cleared but still you're looking at speeds like 15 mil

let's go to matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center to see how things are rolling. >> brand shiny new work week monica and at this point we already have problems as we try and head home on this monday afternoon. this is 422 westbound side, have a crash here by trooper road it's now been pushed off to the side but coming out of king of prussia just a little bit of sluggishness coming away from 202. north of 422 in pottstown there's crash along high high street close to sunnybrook road there by the cvs. watching emergency construction in delanco burlington county this afternoon. it's knocking out the right lane on the northbound side of 130 at creek road by breeze motors. little bit farther north on 130 in mansfield township, there's a crash between kinkora road and burlington road. you can hop on a shuttle bus. also riding the buses in place of the route 34 trolley betweenth street portal and 61st and baltimore because of a medical emergency and njt's rail line shuttle busing because of bridge issues. we'll check it again rick and monica, coming up in the next half hour. >> see you

adam thanks. >>> let's get another check of the roads tonight. >> matt pelman in the "action news" trafficn update and i imagine an early exodus in part, matt. >> absolutely. we saw the exodus begin this morning around 10 o'clock. the delays started to form then on the garden state parkway. you might think they're probably winding down right now. they don't appear to be. still 23 miles of stop-and-go traffic here in the northbound lanes of the garden state parkway. it's a very slow pace, just kind of a crawl as you can see here by the cape may toll plaza so even though the jam started early it lingers and is showing no signs of letting up at this point. the worst shore jams are the roads close to the shore right now. like route nine in somers point. new road jammed up because of a crash. expect delays on route 50. work on the bridge north of route 49 an traffic signal is controlling the one lane of traffic that's opened so that construction also is not helping us out. through dennisville looking at speeds like 10 miles per hour there on the northbound side of 47. so, all the normal culprit

matt pelman in the "action news" traffic center. hi, matt. >> hi, guys. i am campaigning for better traffic conditions on 95. so far i'm losing the race because right now we have just 17 miles per hour for you as you come southbound and it's thanks to a crash past allegheny avenue that's taking out the two right lanes. so, as you head southbound toward that work zone at girard first before the construction you're encountering the crash in the two right lanes. really jamming us up and the jam starts here approaching cottman and it's a slow go down to that accident scene just past allegheny avenue. this is also causing extra heavy northbound delays that's the good old gaper. those delays are spilling back onto the vine street expressway. so already this afternoon eastbound on the vine is a slow crawl across town from the schuylkill out to 95. we have a crash on the schuylkill, too, it's westbound approaching the boulevard. luckily that one is off to the side and adams avenue closed today for four months for work on the bridge over tookany creek. tabor road
