at the international space station, this is the view of super typhoon maysak. incredible shots. images you don't typically see from that elevation. these are the views that we typically see that are much higher in orbit than the international space station. still a super typhoon but on a weakening trend. that's great news. more likely we call a category 1 storm. they will see problems and damage and rain and flooding but not a devastating blow from like a super typhoon. strong storms out there this morning. not a lot of severe weather yesterday. no tornadoes of any significance. a lot of heavy rain. kansas city gets the award for the worst morning commute around the country. later the storms will regenerate into a strong line of storms. indiana and kentucky and portions of northern kentucky and southern missouri that's where we could see the worst of the storms and also st. louis, champagne and cincinnati could see storms. tomorrow more toward nashville, alabama, and mississippi. a lot of wind damage and hail. >> get ready. california is taking drastic steps to combat its histor

this is maysak. you can't tell much of that distinct eyewall any more.ll disburse, which means it is on a weakening trend over these waters. this looks like it will make its way towards southern luzon, north of where there are 23,000 residents out there. i know a lot of people were looking forward to this easter holiday weekend. it could get stormy across these locations but we're still talking about heavy rainfall on the level of that flooding rainfall but bigger picture only scattered showers which is great news. the waves, however, will be about five meters high. so boating is really not recommended out here. and it could hinder some traveling. so we'll keep you updated with this one. now, here we have a low pressure system developing over the sea of japan. the tail end of this system is still affecting north of yangtze river. it could top 100 millimeters of rainfall which really could lead to the risk of flooding. and this system has the potential -- has the history of creating 135 millimeters of rainfall in south korea and that's likely to pull into

now, typhoon maysak is no longer nearly as possible as earlier this week when it had the clearly defined eye and the violent typhoon status. it is now down to a typhoon status. wind speeds at 144 gusting to 1988. the pressure is now up to 960 so it is still weakening. as you go in to part of the weekend, we will see the system continue to weaken. by the time it arrives over luzon we are expecting the system to become a severe tropical storm. but that means it's going to be wet, that means it's going to be windy, and so definitely still need to make proper preparations, and proper plans according to what this weather scenario looks like as we go into the weekend. as we go into the beginning of next week once we get past easter sunday i think we're going to see the weather backing off just a bit and seeing a little bit of an improvement. but definitely need to look out for easter sunday. now toward the north we have a low pressure system bringing stormy conditions into hokkaido and this long extended cold front that's bringing some clouds and some rain for japan. and also into the yangtze
