governor mccrory is up against roy cooper. mccrory running for the republican side. attorney general roy cooper for the democrats. he will face one other challenger. voters will choose when they go into the polls later on this morning. political analysts we talked to say this is going to be a tight race. they say it's also going to be one of the most expensive races in the country. >> in terms of the primary challenges, both are looking ahead to the general. they are not really focusing on primary opponents. primary opponents don't have much money, which means they probably are not very visibility to most voters. >> reporter: in addition to the governor's race, voters will also be voting on a very expensive, but very important bond referendum. we'll tell you more about that carolina. >>> just a little bit about about. it is called the connect nc bond. it is a $2 billion decision. half will go to the improvements of our state's university system. the bond is necessary to accommodate all of the recent growth we've seen in north carolina according to proponents. opponen
