mcdonald's. now that is a week for you. lindsey, what is your take on the numbers so far? >> earnings at sexpected to decline 3.3%. but we're moving in the right direction. that is being largely weighed on by the energy sector which is expected to contract 60% this quarter. good news though at the start of earnings season, earnings contraction was pegged 4.5%. banks are holding us up, money centers, large regionals are reporting much better-than-expected results. they manage expenses and boosts from m&a activity and equity markets. sandra: talk to me about bank earnings. i want to remind everybody we're waiting on morgan stanley. estimate, earnings per share, 74 cents. do you like the banks here? >> we do like the banks because they are doing that expense management. that they're expensing to see increases going forward. jpmorgan cut out voice mail. save them a billion dollars by removing voice mail. when we talk about morgan stanley, gorman has projections where he wants to get to double-digit return on equity. one of the reasons he will do that he will get into more fixed income trading
