meg oliver is a reporter from cbs news in houston.nted to get downtown, but could not reach them because of the floods. describe the situation where you are at the moment. it was extremely frustrating. we drove in from dallas, about four hours north of here, and as soon as we got into houston, right outside come at the floods were everywhere. the highways we re floods were everywhere. the highways were blocked. the side roads were blocked. it is virtually like a ghost town. there are sheriffs department officials directing people in and out. we saw big rig trucks trying to get in and out. in the meantime, there are all these rescues going on, nonstop. the us coastguard has rescued 3000 people, so far. their rescued —— they rescued a thousand of them in the last few hours. we have seen hundreds of volunteers driving in to houston. they are towing fishing boats. they coming to help with the search and rescue efforts, because authorities very overwhelmed. they are doing theirjob and stay on top of it, but there is any so much they can do
