an early morning accident left two people dead in a tragic turn of events. 26-year-old meghan was driving west before 7:00 this morning when her car struck thomas gustafson who was walking or standing on the road. she got out to help with another car came by and struck them both. she was pronounced dead on the scene. he died from injuries that shock trauma. police are consulting with the state attorney's office on charges after a brutal assault that left an 18-year-old severely injured. 11 news has confirmed the teenager has undergone an eye surgery. preliminary investigation reveals the 18-year-old got into a fight with the 15-year-old student after school let out. the two apparently knew each other. there is no word on what may have led to the dispute. there is no word on the condition at this hour. ♪ >> it is another one of those weird it winter days. yesterday, we had thunderstorms. it was not as extreme today, the way out of sync with what is normal. the inner harbor hit 56. the morning lows were above freezing. look at the bottom right of the screen. that is the record snowfall for

for now, we're live, meghan mccorkell, wjz eyewitness news. >> our complete coverage continues with sky eye chopper 13. captain mike perry has more information for us. captain mike? >> reporter: hello, mary. we have been on this scene for about the past hour or so. we do know that baltimore county police did some pretty good police work in northern baltimore county. this car was spotted, going across -- going -- i'm sorry. going across paper mill road, when a police officer radioed to the police helicopter. the police helicopter began surveiling this honda accord, which police believe was stolen at the time. they believe that both suspects in this vehicle were wanted for multiple burglaries in northern baltimore county, as meghan just told you. now, one of the suspects bailed out of the vehicle. that was up at jarrettsville pike, near merriman road. police quickly apprehended that suspect. he remains in police custody. and as you can see, this scene will remain here for sometime because the driver of that suspect vehicle did die as a result of this accident. this is now a fatal accident
