and there is also some rather unflattering testimony involving first lady melania trump's opinion of others in her husband's inner circle. also tonight, new details of a purported conversation involving senator lindsey graham who said he would become a champion of these baseless election fraud claims if the president's allies could, quote, just give me five dead voters. it is a lot to unpack. let's start with sara murray, who has been digging through these transcripts all week for us. sara, what more can you tell us about the new details from donald trump jr.'s testimony to the committee? >> pam, this is interesting because we have of course previously reported on the mark meadows text, the former trump white house chief of staff who was so important to this investigation. and donald trump's testimony really digs into those. we previously reported that donald trump jr. had sent a text to mark meadows essentially laying out a way to keep donald trump in power, keep him in the white house. it was very similar to the strategy that his allies actually put forward, as you said. so the comm

, maybe it did seem possible to him, but one of the things that really sticks out, this is one melania trump complains about the path of ice trump was getting, trump had the advisers he wanted. he was listening to the people he wanted to listen to. there was no shortage of people, even in the white house, that would have told him that this made no sense and was unconstitutional, as the january 6 committee pointed out. lots of people had serious reservations about all this even close to the president, but they're not the ones he wanted to listen to, because they weren't the ones telling him what he wanted to hear. >> what the january 6 committee has done so effectively is illuminate all of this. we've heard bits and pieces. at every single hearing, we've heard different hair raising things, but the fact that they have now, they have it in black and white. it's an all the transcripts, they laid it all out. this started the day after the election, the day after the election, they started making their plans for how to unconstitutional keep him in office. >> no question about it. i think what hap

the latest transcripts also provide interesting details about melania trump's role in the white house. paula reid reports. >> reporter: this latest batch of transcripts released by the january 6th committee involves some big names, including donald trump jr., kimberly guilfoyle, stephen miller and also former white house adviser stephanie grisham. one of the common themes that becomes clear across all these transcripts both from this batch and the one over the last week is that former white house chief mark meadows was at the center of a multifaceted plan to undermine the results of the election. in this most recent batch of transcripts, the committee presses donald trump jr. on a series of text exchanges he had with a former white house chief of staff, including some on november fifth. when donald trump jr. shared ideas of how to keep his father in power by supporting the electoral process. this plan looks similar to the one that was adopted by the former president and his allies over the next two months. under questioning from investigators, donald trump jr. said that he didn't know
