we had just moved up to mendocino county, and it was raining for two, three weeks, every day, constantlyit took me about two or three weeks to realize i was sort of an absorbing the sensation of water into everything i was doing. oh, i get it. it should be a collection on the theme of water. then i turn it around and it became a more conscious effort to make the rest of the music i was writing sound like it have some element of water, whether it was fast, slow, stillwater. the title of that collection is a slow peace. i always like to think that it feels like the surface of water. more importantly than that, if the composer, improviser, is connected with an image or story, no matter what that story is, the and the listener who hears it is going to feel that. a man that did the same thing. i may be thinking water and somebody else may be thinking garbage. or somebody might be thinking about a friend of theirs. but still, they feel that connection. something is going on there that is creating an emotional, or maybe a visual image that people are picking up on. i am not quite sure how that

mostly cloudy some rain to the north and it looks like mendocino lake county will be nice starting next week. >>> a huge fire at an apartment house. look at these pictures, it started 40 minutes ago. what do you know lorraine? >> reporter: we are live just a few blocks from u-c-berkeley, you can see the fire started 4:20 a.m. the good news is everyone got out of that three story building safely this morning. when they got here the apartment building was fully engulfed. 31 firefighters are on the scene trying to fight that fire defensively and when i say that i mean they are outside of the building because at one point, the fire was so engulfed they had a feeling the top story would collapse so they moved them out of the building. they also removed and evacuated other areas here. several trucks answer officers controlling the scene and they have actually put a police tape out to get residents further from where the fire started. again there are no injuries to firefighters or to residents so that is good news but they are still working furiously to fight the fire from the outside. reporti
