. >> reporter: a mendocino woman got a shock of her life. a female mountain lion. she thinks it was attracted to the scent of her house cat. it wondered off. >>> the driver in a crash that killed an 11-year-old may have been drowsy. the chevy suburban went off of the road and hit a tree. everyone was buckled in but the impact was powerful it killed a young girl in the backseat. drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash. >>> and, richmond police officer is on paid leave tonight after shooting and killing a man in a scuffel outside of the liquor store. the police say the officer encountered the man after midnight at uncle sames and they say the suspect was drunk. they say when the man was asked to sit on the sidewalk for a record's check he tried to make a grab for the officer's gun. the officer broke free and shot the man three times in the chest. so far neither man has been identified. >> reporter: and there is a big standoff going on in san bernardino tonight after a man fired shots at children near an ice cream truck. more shots fired since and
