at one point, chp had to shut down highway 101 in menlo park for a few hours per pg&e to fix the powerlines there. they had to remove a huge tree that runs actually across the road. the freeway is back open this morning. pg&e did tweet an apology blaming the complications for closing the 101. we reached out to pg&e this morning and multiple times. we called, we emailed, and we tried everything we could to find out when the rest of the customers will have their power back on. we also requested an interview this morning for our show. the have-nots had one way or another and have not been available to talk, either. so, darren, this is obviously extremely frustrating for a lot of people. these temperatures are very, very low. >> it is that unfortunate convergence. you have a weather system that comes in the can knock out the power and then your having to adjust on some of the coldest nights that we have had. we are breaking records in places for morning lows across the bay area. we have got plenty of rain in this system as well. you can see that there are scattered showers just about everywhere
