she was a dear in mentoring. jennifer dunn was a very good mentor to so many people. they would sit down and talk to us about the history of things. how you got things done. as well as just personally being friends. that was important. barbara vucanovich was another one who was very good about reaching out and helping all of us in various ways. they would always offer to help campaign if you needed to do that, whatever, it was more the day-to-day. you could go to them if you had a question about -- how can i work this bill through? whatever it may be. and they could tell you from experience what they had done, which almost always was very helpful. there was a lot of that back then. today, i don't know. before i left, it didn't really seem the same because they say it was hard just getting the women together. everybody is so busy, though. i don't know if you even notice that, but it just seems like life is a lot more hectic and busy than it used to be. technology was supposed to change that, but i guess it made it worse. president, a mentor is of course by definition a teacher. so many of us have learned so much from him. much has been said about this and i am sure that over the years we will learn more and more about what senator mccain taught us. i would like to highlight two areas where i personally learned so much from john mccain. was how to fight for what you believed in. when you look at the arc of john mccain's life, his whole life, whether in the hanoi hilton or the senate lore, it was about fighting for what you believe in. pretty much everybody in this body has had a scrap with john mccain. when you did it, you had to be ready to fight with all you had intense. on the armed service, prior to the markup of the act, i would have a one-on-one meeting with him on some provisions he might not like i was trying to get in the bill. these were mostly behind closed doors battles, some of which got a little heated, fingers lost , voices raised, more than i won. it never was personal for john mccain. he was a warrior and he often said a fight not joined is a

it was project pull mentor assistance program. it's an extension program for college interns who were placed with city agencies within their career field. not only did they get to learn about their career interests, they also had a chance to gain leadership skills by mentoring and assisting high school students that were placed within the city departments. in 2017, our third expansion, we had our very first-ever project pull program at moccasin. so we were very excited about that. this year we have three interns, two high school and one college. this year we launched our project pull promise. i'm super proud of this program. this program we provided three incarcerated youth internship opportunities. the purpose of this program was to provide a promise that we give them a skill set, the knowledge that's necessary for them to better themselves out in the workplace. and how we did that, we had curriculum set up for them. we had mockin -- mo mock interviews, resume writing. this is first of is kind. i want to say thank you for trustin
