it's been one of better trades year to date steve, you have merck, you trade it is it still holding?, i think it could hold it's relatively low data versus moderna which i own. the reason i sold it -- some days i regret selling. it's still a cheap stock, still extremely well run, i think the best pharma run company. moderna it's a much better balance sheet, but moderna i stellar, so did my market view i'd just rather be with moderna. >> on a serious note we have a lot of health care issues in this country not only going away but could probably get worse if you have a macro take on health care in general longer term >> well, listen one year ago i talked about health care and others on the show as well and the valuation discount that existed for the sector relative to the s&p it was a 30-year discount of nearly 20% so this is the perfect environment to have a sector which offers you a little offense, a little defense, a little bit of growth and a little bit of value in your portfolio. and i think you stay with it you know what's interesting steve mentions moderna, and i think a lot of

you've got johnson & johnson, pfizer, united health, amgen, merck, all seeing healthy gains on the session right now, in particular pfizer up more than 1.25%. oil is interesting right now, moving in the opposite direction of the stock market. fallen for four session to a new 2022 low, right now oil as you can see oil $72.34 the read on this contract but nearing that mark hadn't seen that since december of last year. bond yields pulling back for a second day, the yield curve inversion remaining at its steepest since 1981. that is not helping fears of a hard landing. investors are counting down to that fed meeting. that is next week. in fact, one week from today, we got the decision and we will know if the fed is indeed hiked rates by 50 basis points, maybe more. there is of course that 10-year. right now, the futures market, strongly favoring that outcome. that 50 basis point outcome, but with all of this uncertainty, i don't know investors play the market especially as we go into the end of the year. let's get to our floor show right now joining me now, seaport securities founder teddy wei

eli lilly and merck. biotech names did not.pider etf, that underperformed, the market holds a more speculative market. not all of them generate free cash. you know it is a bad year for biotech when you have this many companies changing their names. a company called citrix is now latter x. adagio is now called invid. i'm thinking of changing my last name to why? gsk is now gsk. speaking of slowing down, the biggest growth story of the year had to be the obesity drug, the diabetes drug accused -- approved for obesity now. eli lilly is expected to get a similar drug approved in 2023 and amgen announced promising clinical results. jack otter: do you expect a rebound in the biotech sector? jack hough: investors say there's going to be a rebound, time to be selective. when do you say don't be selective? throw money at the sector willy-nilly. i would say don't be selective. put money in the etf if you are going to do it. jack otter: all eyes are on tech for 10 years, the only place to be as long as you had tech in your portfolio. now

look across the entire landscape, whether it's bmy, amgen, even throw johnson & johnson in there and merck, these are large cap dividend-paying stocks i think in a market that's obvious very tricky, it gives the street something to kind of gravitate towards. and i think when you look at, you know, whether it's bang or some additional large-cap health care names, fundamental performance is pretty good and earnings look like they're going to kind of hold in, at least relative to other subsectors so i think that's why we feel like health care is going to be at least a pretty good sector over the next couple of quarters >> all right, so let's kind of just go back on that point for a moment why has health care outperformed by so much this year and why is it likely to outperform again next year, do you think? >> well, i think health care has performed well, because it's really dominated by large-cap pharma, managed care, drug distributorers there are really three, maybe four large areas within this sector that comprise the vast majority of the xlb or how we would define health care it's come fro
