the first marathoners were across the starting line near lake merritt .and there they go in the rain. but there's also a half marathon and 10-k this morning. one of the runners we talked with, said she's glad she's not running a marathon in this morning's wet weather. i just showed up and training. it's okay. it's not too windy, so i think it'll be all right. it was raining fairly hard at the beginning of the race, but it's slacked off since then, and that will give the marathoners and half marathoners time to dry up before they cross that finish line in the next hour or so. most of the runners say it's a different experience than the expected, but they're all out there. have a good time or so they say. i believe him. i believe him. i the most i've done isnd i felt pretty accomplished. i don't know that i could go 26 months did a 10-k. i have covered a lot of boston marathons in my day, and i'm always you know, while i'm out there covering these people running, man, this is amazing. you feel the energy and then you see some of the guys that ran to come in
