with chief meterologist brittney shipp.nce karnow: it has been an incredible rain season and it's still going. one of the strongest april storms in recent memory moved through last night with heavy rain and winds gusting over 50 mph. we've head showers throughout the day but another storm is about to move on shore. you can see the rain on our doppler radar. there are pockets of heavier rain in yellow and orange. we could see a few isolated thunderstorms too. you can see the huge storm on our satellite image. the main front moved through last night. but behind it there is another system you can see here. that will move in tonight and the rain and wind will pick up again but it won't be as strong as last night. heavy snow continues in the sierra with another 2 to 3 feet possible above 6,000 feet. winter storm warnings are in effect until 6 pm saturday night. we will continue to see more rain here. you can see it on our computer model moving in tonight. we could see another half and inch of rain in the wettest spots. highs tom
