we want to dig a little bit deeper into the verdict that came out today with our legal analyst michael cardoza. michael, thank you for being here. took 17 for the jury to reach a verdict from what you've heard today, reach the right conclusion. >> i think they did reach the right conclusion with the facts that presented to them with the jury instruction with the time they took a bet that this evidence very carefully and they did come to the right decision. >> and they rejected the defendant's claim that he acted in self-defense. that was really the crux of the issue here. >> that that's correct. the jury had a choice. i'll be their first degree. which would have many. 25 to live. plus use of the night. so 26th to live second-degree murder is 15 to life with the use of the night's most extend the life voluntary were involuntary manslaughter and that cups down to a top or 12 years, which i think 2 or 3 at the bottom so they had to vet all that. although the jury is instructed do not. deal with punishment. that's not your job. as a juror they wouldn't know unless they knew in their private life.
