michael & son camera. still looking good this morning with clear skies in washington. partly cloudy now at reagan national and calm winds. dew point 51 and our humidity at 90%. and that barometer you see it 29.98. that's going to fall in a big way especially as we head into the weekend. cold front coming toward us, this morning it's heading to chicago and st. louis. little line of showers there. out ahead of it though with the southerly and southwesterly flow, that's going to provide the warmth for us today. and tomorrow as well. but things are going to change by sunday. we're looking at clear skies most of the day today. here we are at 6:00. lots of sunshine. tonight we become partly to mostly cloudy. it will be much milder, 50s to around 60. now tomorrow with lunchtime. here we are at noon. you notice north and west and showers and we're okay in the metro and south and east. a few showers possible on the eastern shore. then this line of showers and possible storms here forms in the afternoon. here we are 3:15, heavy still north and west of d.c.. coming through in the evening hours. this is goin

right now our michael & son camera shows a pretty picture of the capitol building, about 40 degrees for the reagan national airport. in toward the futurecast forecast model, we'll continue to show moisture down toward our south but as the drier air pushes on through we'll have even more sunshine in the forecast as we get in toward friday afternoon and evening and in fact tomorrow's temperatures because of the north winds we're going to hold it down just a little bit more in toward the afternoon. then we clear thing out nicely. by friday night and saturday we're looking pretty good which means a bit of a turnaround for the weekend. although we cool down on friday, we start a bit of a warmup saturday and sunday and that's good news if you have any of the weekend plans for easter sunday. or beyond. and it looks like we'll keep the forecast dry at least until we get into the start of next week. so here's what you need to know for today. forecast highs should get us to about 62 degrees. for reagan national airport we'll see about 62 for manassas. but in the meantime though, a very cool couple of nights

michael & son weather camera. only a southwest wind at 3 miles an hour at the surface at reagan national. the dew points creeping up now up to 43. humidity 69%. want to show you national temperatures because you see the colder air coming down the rockies. the warmer stuff coming up in the mississippi and tennessee valleys there. the deep south with 60s. there's a storm system spinning around. still snowing across parts of colorado. the severe weather, that was in dallas yesterday. thankfully not deadly tornadoes. the line of severe storms has moved toward east texas and louisiana this morning. not severe at the home but we'll have to watch it for later today. around here other than the stray shower or two overnight, our future cast indicating other than some clouds midday, some afternoon showers could be popping well off to our south. so not too much of a concern for rain and we're running about 3, 3 and a half inches below average for the year. kind of need a little rain around here. today 75, a stray shower south. tonight we're going to be dipping into the 40s and low 50s. tomorrow 62.

michael & son weather camera. a pretty shot. clearer skies. 49 degrees. on top of the hour 6:00 a.m. reagan national did report a few clouds but those winds are north of 20, gusting to 29. the air is drying out. barometer is rising. high pressure builds in. behind this system which is sinking south and east, high pressure coming in here. the difference between the storm system off shore, the pressure difference that is and the high moving in, driving those winds. but as the high settles in late today, really tonight it's going to come down toward us. the winds will get lighter. so that's one reason we're looking at temperatures in the suburbs mid-30s to about 40 in washington. here we go for tonight into tomorrow morning. tomorrow looks like another very sunny day. maybe by wednesday afternoon we'll have to watch out for the threat of a couple of showers from d.c. and points south. really looks good today and tomorrow except for the wind today. going to gust toward 30 for the next several hours. 62 degrees this afternoon. 35 to 40, maybe 42 by the bay tonight. tomorrow upper 60s. a warmer d

michael & son weather camera, look at this. just a little wind right there. see the flag? it's not standing straight, just a little. a little breeze outside the capitol with 45 degrees. mostly cloudy at reagan national and a southwest wind only at 3 miles an hour. so the windchill 44. big picture, we've got lots of scattered showers in the northern rockies. one, two big storms off the west coast. they're going to get unsettled but with this northwesterly flow, we turn our attention to the upper plains, the northern mississippi valley here from the twin cities in minneapolis down headed toward madison, wisconsin. we've got showers moving south and east and this next disturbance looks like it could be giving us a problem with the form of showers, maybe a couple of rumbles of thunder as we get into the day on thursday. looking at our future cast, pretty quiet this morning. a few passing clouds but a good looking day with partly to mostly sunny conditions. temps upper 60s to around 70. we turn our attention west. tonight we're looking at the clouds rolling in. here we are by midnight. still quiet, maybe a shower toward garrett county. overnight we're going to see the clouds thicken up by tomorr

reagan national but 46 in leesburg. 48 sterling and centreville. it's 50 degrees in great falls and fort belvoir. off to the east this morning columbia and college park at 51. outside on our michael & son weather camera, a little bit of haze out there. don't really want to call it fog outside the capital with cloudy skies, calm winds and the humidity high at 74%. while we're seeing the storm system that pushed through us yesterday pulling away, it's the activity in the middle of the country, the central and northern plains will be approaching us as we head into saturday. that will be our next best chance of showers and storms. between that and this, we've got a good day today. a good day tomorrow. and then more rain returns over the weekend. the models are differing a little bit whether or not we get a good soaking rain on sunday or that may stay more east of us. but we will get some rain and a cooldown for sunday, monday and tuesday. today around 70. becoming sunny, very nice. tonight's temperatures will dip into the 40s and 50s. 75 tomorrow. we stay in the 50s friday night with these showers and storms returning saturday. maybe even before the noon hour, 74 on saturday. sunday

outside on our michael & son weather camera, flags a little bit up there this morning around the capitol. 56 degrees. go have a wind south of 9 at reagan national and the dew points are in the upper 50s. so it is muggy out there. humidity at 78%. nationally we've got the storm system in the middle of the country. this is the one that brought the deadly tornadoes to woodward, oklahoma. all those tornadoes from oklahoma and kansas and texas. this morning look at the moisture from around houston all the way up toward detroit here. pretty solid line. moisture trying to come in off the gulf into areas around mobile bay and alabama. east of that it's toasty warm for this time of year. temps running 20 in some spots, 25, 30 degrees above average today. so there will be record highs up and down the eastern seaboard, especially in the northeast. trying to get the boston marathon run today. going to be in the 80s. they told people please, if you want to run next year, we'll let you do it next year for safety reasons. here we go tonight. still quiet this evening. maybe a shower getting towards pittsburgh and morgantown. we'll get into the overnig
