i'm michelle griego. >> i'm kenny choi. firefighters just gave an update in the last hour. jackie ward is live. jackie. >> reporter: kenny, michelle, the public information officer just wrapped up a press conference about 30 minutes ago. yes, the fires are out the cleanup process begins and a cause has not been determined. fire crews finally had a chance to investigate the damage. the tanks were only filled to 1% capacity so this could have been a whole lot worse because 16.8 million-gallons of ethanol can be stored across both tanks. >> we probably dodged some bullet es here in the last 24 hours. they were mostly empty, that is a two edge sword because they have more oxygen in them when they are empty so that would be conjecture on my part to say which way we would have been better off, but the point is at 1% capacity, those tanks capacity. >> they believe it is mostly water at this point but they are still trying to determine that. con fire said they will con fi new to saturate the area with foam so it doesn't rekindle. foam is 97% water. they have also assessed there nois

and that's the overnight news for this thursday >>> blaking news a brush fire breamorning i'm michelle griego. >> reporter: 50 homes are under evacuations orders. let me show you where this is. around the area of merrell circle road and holland's drive affected by the fire that broke out around 1 a.m. you can see that glow burning so close to those homes. at this point this is 50% contained. it's burned about 40 acres but firefighters have been having trouble with winds pushing this thing uphill near home backyards. no structures have burned at this point. look at that amount of smoke coming off of the fire. the homes evacuated are in the areas of sanders ranch, that entire neighborhood. they got word just after 1 a.m. evacuations center where we have a live raat saint monica's church right now. rude awakening. a lot of the people have also been affected by the power outage. so that is an additional challenge they're dealing with right now. st. marys college is not affected by the fire. it is about a mile away and firefighters think they have a pretty decent handle on it right now. we have a
