the story of midtown has been a long and complicated one. i personally know many of the residents who live there and for too long, the residents of midtown were neglected and misinformed by former administrations and went through a number of property managers. midtown park apartments is a six-building, 139-unit residential complex established in 1964 and historically, designed for low and moderate income households. the development is owned by the city and county of san francisco under the jurisdiction of the mayor's office of housing and community development. and as of 2014, it's been leased and managed by mercy housing. the complex still suffers from over 40 years of deferred maintenance caused by insufficient rental revenue and years and years of poor management. we're talking about things like mold problems, fire safety systems, broken heaters and plumbing issues, water damage and so much more. the property is not fully accessible to seniors and people with disabilities. and of the 129 occupied units, 30 have been identified as frail se
