mike is starting to see traders nibble at these names, mike, what are we watching >> best thing to take a look at if you're trying to get a sense of where investors' sentiment, try to take a proxy for the entire space, and that is kre, the etf that tracks regional banks. one of the biggest options we saw yesterday, traded over a million contracts. some of the stocks you just mentioned, during the course of the week we saw bearish bets especially early in the week, and some of those turned out to be quite presht. calls did outtrade puts but actually we measure positive sentiment two ways one is with call buying and the other is put selling what we are seeing is some folks believe the damage in this space may be done. one of the bullish bets we saw was a big purchase of the july 40/43 call spread. saw 6,000 of those go up as a single print i think there are players who think the damage may be coming closer to the bottom any way there's a couple things you need in you'd like to catch the falling knife. one is policymaker support that suggests there is going to be some end in sight. but the

mike, how are you playing lululemon?> well, i mean, people who watch the show know that this is one of my holly index names. downward dog, it might be a little bit unfair. the stock is up 6% on the year certainly very recently it has been materially underperforming. now, just a couple of things about the company first. number one, their demographic, they sell to a more affluent consumer my thinking is maybe we won't see as much pressure on the consumer side. they announced they are doing some hiring and any company doing some hiring i think that suggests that there is, you know, obviously, something positive going on. so i think that supports it. in terms of valuation, 25 times full year 2024 earnings if they hold to those numbers. if they improve on that, of course, when you see the recent performance going out and buying the stock if you don't own it already as i do, you might be a little bit concerned going into earnings we talked about not getting short options going into earnings rather getting long, although i was

how are you handling ford stock on this news mike, what do you think?ford was a long-term holding for me i actually blew out of it in april, and i think it's a very positive development for ford. whether or not we're going to see a whole lot more strength out of it it's hard to say i mean, it seems to me this is as much a benefit for tesla as it is for ford, probably more so, actually my thinking is that if you're thinking about getting into it sell some close to at the money or slightly out of the money cash covered puts, you know, this is a name that has some implied vol in it, you'll be collecting a little bit of yield by doing that, if you put the stock, own it adiscount to the current stock price. we'll have to turn to carter to see if this is a break yacht it's been in a prolonged downtrend. >> there's the question, carter. >> it's a bond has a 5% yield, foerd motor today closed at $12.09 on february 2nd, 1987, 26 years ago, it was $12.09 so, adjust it for inflation, you lost about 85% of your money but it's paid a big dividend a time to buy ford

mike's laying out a trade before those results friday mike, how are you playing this one?e,s this another stock that we own. like most investors we are long stocks on balance, and we are in the case of deere. people that havewatched the network or seen me talk about this company in the past knows i think -- there are times in past years where i describe this as a buy and hold forever type of stock. what's interesting is just what the price action has been over the recent couple of years it's hard to believe, but this company which was founded in the early 1800s, so it's one of the olde companies that you can actually buy stock in, has outperformed since the covid low most of the big tech names we can think of it has significantly outperformed apple, alphabet, microsoft, and amazon during that time frame. since year end 2019, it had seen significant revenue growth of about 40%. eps basically tripled. but what i would like people to think about as we go into earnings is there's been a pretty unique dynamic that has existed for the company, basically a perfect setup. we have

mike, what's your take here? >> yeah, i've been hearing a lot of these comments.hy is the vix so low or how come it hasn't gone higher even as things like the debt ceiling crisis, as that comes closer and closer, people are expecting to see the vix sharply higher than its current level of about 17, which is actually below the long-term historical average, which is closer to 20. with all of these how come it is actually been going sideways or even lower there's a couple of reasons i think we should talk about one of them is what carter has been talking about when the market bifurcates, some stocks are rising and others are falls. the index itself isn't going anywhere you can have a lot of volatility in the individual constituent stocks of an index but the index itself might be relatively quiet. what requires basically to happen for an increase in that volatility is for the correlation of those stocks to also increase. when you think about volatility of an index it's a function of those two things, how much are stocks moving around and how much do they move around t
