and the family of mike brown said it best, for a number will of people, this they want an arrest of darren brown and that says it all. it's about the arrest of tear r darren wilson and the broader issues black men face when dealing with law enforcement. >> so do you see this moving from a row test to a movement, a broader message on many different levels? >> most certainly. in the first days after michael brown was killed, it was org beganic. people in the community who were enraged. but in the days and weeks that followed, as protesters grew, they got angrier. and now it's organized. there are clear political goals and ideals and demands. it's a far cry in what we saw in the initial early days. >> are you still seeing some of that rage, some of that anger and is there any concern that this movement could turn violent? >> certainly there is an undercurrent of outrage because many people are still wondering with all the evidence and witnesses that seem to point to something fishy in the case, why there has not been an arrest. but a lot of the early violence was sparked by a few bad apples a

examiner, who is not part of the official investigation, told "the dispatch" the autopsy shows mike brown was shot in the hand at close range instead of, quote, does not there was significant altercation at the car. then there was a "washington post" story today in which the report states that according to people familiar with the investigation, more than half dozen unnamed black witnesses have provided testimony to a st. louis county grand jury that largely supports wilson's account of the events of august 9th. this steady stream of leaks has turned what is supposed to be a secret proceeding, driven by the prosecution, into a public proceeding taking place in the media that seems far more beneficial to the defense. it appears that a certain group of people are determined to get this information out to the public. perhaps to prepare the people of ferguson and greater st. louis for the coming announcement expected some time in the next month or two of whether or not the grand jury will indict officer wilson. joining me, defense attorney julia quan. julia, i wanted to set this in a context.

he still has to justify those fatal shots when he shot mike brown and killed him. fact, brown turned back on him and that now seems to be apparent from the autopsy, then certainly somebody who was willing to go for a gun, who was willing to hit a police officer, that's going to raise the specter or the fear level in wilson when he perceives brown turning on him. >> mark o'mara, there is concern expressed by the attorney general about these leaks in the case, as i referenced at the outset of this discussion. have you given thought to the possibility that maybe the leaks are deliberate, so as to take down the temperature in the community if and when there is no indictment? in other words, it won't come as a sudden shock? >> well, first of all, i'm very frustrated with these leaks. i've said it in other cases i've been involved in. i said it with this case before. it is dangerous to let these snippets of information out for a couple of reasons, not the least of which is allows people to speculate and become frustrated because they don't know where it's coming from and

we know from the autopsy there are four wounds on mike brown's arm. could have been shot from up front or behind with his arms up. the most important part, richard is the fatal shot, the fatal shot when six witnesses say he had his hands up in the air. five of the witnesses who didn't know either men in the case. we still don't have an explanation of that. >> now, what is reported, two shots that were fatal to him, it has been reported so far to his head at the moment. you also were there talking about brown, his family. you just came back from ferguson. >> yes, i was in st. louis, and doing an event. i brought my book on anthony gray, the attorney -- >> what did you find out? >> i'll tell you what thing i learned. they said don't believe the media reports, the differences in the generations. we are here and united and persistent and will not give up. most of the community don't think charges will be filed against darren wilson. i myself think that is probably unlikely. it could happen, unlikely, of course charges are only the beginning. after that we

they surrendered themselves to the police in mike brown. 43 people were arrested. but after that, you saw groups at the walmart, i was at city hall earlier where they hung up banners and wanted to see the mayor. people gathered. a few arrested. more what we saw in the police station, it spread across the region in a very remarkable fashion. >> yeah, and if you're the mayor of st. louis or the st. louis police, you understand there is going to be no walling this off as this plays out in the future with the grand jury still deliberating about possible charges against the office in question. this is, you know, this is an issue for st. louis metro police. and it's been interesting to watch the police respond tactically to the protesters in a kind of back and forth that's been playing out in numerous different con tron facts. what have you gleaned from that? >> i think law enforcement learned a lot from the early days the first few days after michael brown was killed. it seemed that police weren't sure of what they're doing. i've talked to many protesters who spent nigh

they fact they let mike brown lay there for four hours, he was unarmed, he was shot six times. how do we keep the coverage going about something that is so important? i understand the coverage is still continuing in ferguson. i have not seen much more national coverage on it. >> i still get press calls. i want people to know that the world and when i say the world, seriously the world is still interested in how we are doing. while everyone has left, i still get call probably about every other day whether it is from national reporters or from international reporters wanting to know what is going on. so, i guess it is not glared across the tv screen and on twitter all of the time now, but people are checking in because i don't want people to get the sense that the media wants their clicks and pictures and they have taken off. i have ship -- relationships are reporters and it is what is the next step, next protest, next meeting. so the interest is here, which doesn't feel like much after what we have been through, but people want to say st. louis and the region moving forward. >>

today's demonstrations were a protest marking two months sense unarmed mike brown was shot and killedilson, who is still drawing a paycheck. in wake of the shooting death of myers last week who was killed last week by an off-duty st. louis police officer. protests have spread all over the st. louis metro area. over the weekend, hundreds marched for blocks through downtown st. louis. there's a sit-in occupation outside the ferguson police station and a much larger gathering at st. louis university where, according to msnbc's tremaine lee, more than 1,000 people showed up. the st. louis police have kept their distance and avoided the big confrontation we saw in august. but what's being called ferguson october, there's a tension, a divide between the different generations of activists and protesters on the scene. and last night in a remarkable moment, that division cracked open when young protesters demanded that older protesters listened to what they had to say. >> for us, this is not an academic issue, and i said this a few weeks ago. the people who want to take the time to break down
