in the clips there, you heard everybody from matt gaetz to mike lawler. when you have gaetz and lawler, those are the two extreme ends of this fight saying this is the right guy, that is reason for optimism. johnson is not a bomb tloer. he thrower. he doesn't chase fox news the way jim jordan did. you get a lot of comments about him that he is a good listener, that he is someone that people generally get along with. i watched a lot of clips of johnson the last several hours and he does sort of have a moderate tone. you know, he is not stridently bombastic or confrontational. there is even a video of him talking about how he thinks that it is his relationship to have a relationship with democrats and try to convince him that conservative ideas are better. so i think when you look at disposition, he might be what the doctor ordered. i know democrats will be against him on the january of stuff and on the biden election stuff. but the speaker has to run the house and try to work together to do big things, the disposition of someone like johnson could be what

mike lawler comes from -- won by a narrow margin from new york, voted for mccarthy here. so, again, that's another one of those politically difficult votes. but there are some others on this list who are from safely republican districts. john rutherford from florida, who voted for scalise, mike simpson from idaho, who voted for scalise, victoria spartz from indiana, reluctant back to january in all of these votes to side with her party's nominee on the floor. she ended up not voting for jim jordan in this one. steve womack, he had been sending indications that he wouldn't vote as well. so you've got a couple different blocks here. you got some republicans who are from safely republican districts. they may have an issue with jordan. they may have an issue with how this process played out, some loyalty, residual loyalty to steve scalise or kevin mccarthy. you've got some republicans who represent districts that either voted for biden or were close to voting for biden who may be feeling some political pressure here. and, again, you add that all together here and jordan wasn'
